9 Wardrobe Basics For Petite Women
Jeans
For each girl, the concept of “perfect jeans” is so independent and different. For one it could be straight leg jeans, for another it’s skinny jeans, and for the other it’s mom jeans. The most effective criteria to figure out what pair of jeans to give preference to is by knowing your body type, the flaws, and nuances, which will help you find the most perfect pair of jeans for you! My personal favorite models are straight-leg jeans and mom jeans, they fit my body like a glove and creating outfits is very easy now!
Cardigan
A cardigan is a very controversial basic piece, because not everyone wears cardigans and for the most part that is because it is really easy to fail an outfit with a cardigan. Cardigans are super warm, luxurious and yet very feminine! The shape type or color only matter if you’re planning to wear it as a basic layering top. This type of outerwear will become super universal, if you splurge and get a high – quality cardigan with fantastic cut for your body type. You can pair it with any bottom, like jeans, skirts and shorts, dressy or causal.
White Button Down Shirt
It’s very common that a white button down shirt is present in every office ladies’ wardrobe. But, ideally, every woman should have several white button down shirts in different fabrics and styles. This item is very underrated for the potential it has. But, if we are choosing only one button down shirt, then without a doubt, it is a white button down shirt of a men’s cut.
Neutral T-shirt
Ideally, everyone should own neutral t-shirts in all neutral palette colors. Believe me or not a white t-shirt can be a statement piece in some outfits. And if you own multiple t-shirts you know that there are numerous ways to style them. But, in the beginning it’s good to start with a simple, basic white t-shirt. The best t-shirts and the most practical ones, are a bit loose and not too tight. And I like to tuck mine in the front or on one side to make it look effortlessly chic.
Black Trousers
These pants will always come in handy when you can’t decide what to wear. When choosing the right option, pay attention that the length is slightly above your ankle so that they look good with or without heels and high-platform shoes. Ultimately, opt for a higher quality fabric because this guarantees longer wear; value over cost!
Blazer
A well fitted blazer will look good with almost anything in your wardrobe. Dresses, skirts, shorts, denim or trousers; this all looks good with a blazer! No matter what time of the year it is, a blazer will always pull off your look! Opt for double-breasted, tweed, linen blazers that are slightly longer below your thighs.
Sneakers
Sneakers are the most versatile pair of shoes not just for everyday but they’re also a good option to wear with a dress or a skirt, if you’re going for a casual fit. Best shoes for moms-on-the go and even to work, if you’re dress code allows.
Crossbody
A good bag will always accompany you to work, school, events and many more. A classic bag is always a win – win option, make sure it’s big enough to hold all your essentials, yet small enough to carry around with ease. But make sure not carry big totes as they will break your proportions big time.
Sunglasses
Although, not everyone wear or even has this accessory, but Im telling you this is a game-changer in almost all of my outfits! Throw on a T-shirt with jeans and sneakers and finish off with a pair of well-fitted sunglasses. And THAT’S IT! Literally, a stylish outfit complete within a minute. Don’t underrate sunglasses because they can instantly uplift your look!
